At times like these, I often wonder where I would be
without friends and family. I don’t
expect that I’d get very far, or be able to accomplish many of the things I
have done. Let me take this moment to
thank them. This book is a small gesture
towards them. I thank my parents for
showing support for me through this difficult time in my life. I thank my friends in the Academy for showing
such enthusiasm and support in me, particularly Emily, Kassia, Marilynn, Kit,
Marc, Benjamin, D.J., and Hunter. Let me
also thank Isabelle for her uncanny arrival during the course of this book as
